The 9th International Freiberg Conference on IGCC & XtL Technologies is jointly organized by the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Freiberg, Germany), the IEA Clean Coal Centre (London, UK) and our international partners. The event will focus on issues associated with closing the carbon cycle and the role of coal in a circular economy.

Political, industry and scientific actors along carbon value chains from extraction, processing/refining to conversionutilization and chemical recycling will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth exchanges about alternative and innovative developments associated with carbon resources as well as challenges and opportunities for carbon intensive and dependent industries (e.g. energy, chemical, recycling sectors), especially in view of the global drive towards reducing carbon footprint.

In addition to the opportunity to participate in exciting technical tours in and around Berlin, the conference program will also include interesting social events designed to facilitate networking and interaction between conference participants in settings that will allow them to experience the rich cultural heritage of Germany’s capital city Berlin.

Please refer to Description and Venue for more information about the focus of the conference and its location.
